kororoit creek shared trail and sculpture walk, altona north

Mamma is always looking for fun outdoor places to take the kids for walk, scoot or ride. This part of the Kororoit Creek shared trail is fantastic. The friends of Lower Kororoit Creek have done an amazing job of rejuvenating this area with local grasses and trees for us to enjoy and the creek looks lovely against our industrial westie landscape.  All the paths are wide and smooth with plenty of room for everyone plus excellent safety rails along the creek side - Mamma says it is a great place to grab a friend and go for a walk with the pram along the creek. There is also a playground if small legs get tired of walking. That is located in Harris Reserve a little way into the trail.

Mamma's special mentions:  Then there are the sculptures along the trail. These are quite fantastic creations  by local talented artist Geoffrey Ricardo. There are 8 in total for you to 'find' along the trail and then, when you do -  take a moment to ponder the possible meaning behind each of these thought provoking pieces of art. They are wondrous and an interesting talking point with the little ones. A figure with plane wings? A giant kangaroo? Just so cool.
