serendip sanctuary, lara

Come and take a walk on the wild side at this idyllic animal sanctuary nestled in the Lara bushland. Mamma and the crew are always in awe of all the flora and fauna that we get to see at this magical place. You can literally walk with the emu's, wave at the curious wallabies and 'ooh' and 'aaah' at all the beautiful looking birds - like the Masked Owl and Cape Barren Geese. There’s a large picnic area as you arrive in the car park, with toilets, and plenty of room where you can let the kids off the leash to run wild in the surrounding forest.

Mamma's special mentions: This is a fantastic place for the little ones to get close to the animals and learn about their environment and Mamma says there are a couple of rules to keep the sanctuary as close to nature as possible for the wildlife and others to enjoy - keep to the walking tracks, be as quiet as you can so you don't scare the animals, leave everything how you find it and take your rubbish home with you. Oh and guess what? It's FREE!

Mamma says make sure you save some time to visit the amazing Little Teapot Cafe in Lara - it is seriously amazing!
