paper planet @ FCAC, footscray

FREE event!
Step into a paper bushland oasis where birdsong will wisp you away as you explore the fantastical world of Paper Planet.

Paper Planet is produced by Polyglot Theatre, a globally-renowned company based in Melbourne that creates, produces and tours theatre for young people all over the world.

There’s no limit to imaginative play here, where visitors can cut, tear, scrunch and stick together paper creations to add to the biodiversity of the cardboard forest. Little spiders will find hidey holes in cardboard rolls, squids might shimmy down the waterfall and turtles can lay 1000 eggs by the bank of the pond.

Lillypads are dotted around the floor for you to sit and idle the time away, designing and creating and imagining in this delicate world of creativity. Adults and children are equally enthralled in this world.

There are friendly helpers around to engage in creative play with your little ones, assist bring their inventions to life and who also provide initiation around the campfire when you enter, explaining the how-to’s and handing out a roll of tape to each child.

Mamma and the kiddies had SO much fun in here, we will definitely be back before it ends, and can’t wait to see how it evolves over time!

Mamma’s special mention: Team this up perfectly with lunch at Myrtle Wine Cafe followed by a treat at the NEW Footscray Ice Cream Co. just a short walk away.
