As the weather warms up and the beaches in the West fill up - it’s good to have some other spots to go to. It was our first visit to Campbells Cove since the mandatory clothing rule was put into place on September 1......and we found it to be quite a treasure. The sand is not pristine but the waters are sparkling and cool and the beach is calm and quiet. There are no facilities, no shops and not many people but we LOVED the serenity, beautiful views, and peace. The drive along past the colourful ‘privately owned fisherman shacks’ is really interesting too – these shacks and the surrounding land is full of old seaside charm and predominantly used as holiday houses or to store boats or utilised for fishing. Keep driving along until you hit the car parking and public area, then there is a couple of boardwalk options for walks and on to the beach or further. Although the beach here is not well maintained – it’s great for beach combing, walking, adventures, fishing and swimming at high tide.
